Former newspaper office Greyfriars House has been converted into student accommodation following completion of a £3.59 million project.
Multi-disciplinary consultancy, The Construction Consultants (TCC) has overseen the transformation of the building in Coventry city centre into a 98-bed residence for Blue Bear Management Limited.
The conversion included a double rooftop extension which has added two storeys to the building and contains a collection of one, two and three-bedroom studio apartments.
Solar panels have also been installed to the development to supply electricity to the rooftop extension and reduce the building’s impact on the local electrical network.
TCC were involved in the project from the outset until completion and acted as employer’s agent and cost manager.
Co-founder and Director of TCC, Alex Pimley, said: “It was a pleasure to work on this conversion for Blue Bear Management Limited. We always value opportunities to breathe new life into existing developments, particularly ones that deliver a greener solution.”
Preet Ghandi, Director of Blue Bear Management Limited, said: “We are so pleased with the performance of the project team. We will be looking to negotiate the next project with the same parties.”
