This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that The Construction Consultants has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour. The Construction Consultants has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are
committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.
Our business is a leading provider of construction consulting services in England. We work with a diverse range of clients and consultants to deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The nature of our supply chains is as follows: we primarily engage with main contractors who procure construction materials, subcontractors for specialised labour, and partners for various services required in the construction industry, all of whom are based in regions with robust legal frameworks against modern slavery.
Due to the nature of our business and our approach to governance, we assess that there is a very low risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains. However, we continue to enhance our procedures to ensure that our risk is as low as possible.
We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:
1. Recruitment policy: We ensure fair employment practices and verify the eligibility and rights of all employees to work.
2. Whistleblowing policy: We encourage all employees, customers, and suppliers to report any suspicion of slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation.
3. Anti-slavery policy: This outlines our approach to mitigating the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain.
We regularly conduct training for our procurement/buying teams so that they understand the signs of modern slavery and what to do if they suspect that it is taking place within our supply chain.
We have set the following key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain:
1. No reports are received from employees or the public to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified.
2. Compliance with procurement and whistleblowing policies.
