No sweat: TCC delivers The Gym Group’s £2.75m rebranding programme
The Construction Consultants (TCC) has completed a national programme to rebrand The Gym Group’s portfolio of gyms – and delivered its two newest venues.
The £2.75 million project applied new external signage to more than 210 gyms located across the UK and took 15 weeks to complete.
It included the removal of all external branded signage and window graphics and replacement with a new branded design.
TCC was appointed to deliver contract administration and cost management services on behalf of The Gym Group, which included the selection of four separate signage contractors.
Site allocation was determined using enhanced tender analysis to ensure that works were completed within the required programme, while maintaining quality and cost efficiencies throughout.
“This was a complex and fast-moving project,” said Alex Pimley, Co-founder and Director of TCC.
“The scale of the works and geographical spread of the sites meant that we had to appoint and oversee the delivery of four contractors.
“We enjoy a positive and long lasting relationship with The Gym Group and have developed a comprehensive understanding of its requirements. Our familiarity with the brand and its estate was naturally a huge asset during the project.”
TCC’s detailed programme was developed in conjunction with additional enhancement works at a number of The Gym Group’s sites and the delivery of two new outlets.
Existing gym facilities in Romford and Leyton have been transformed into bright, vibrant workout spaces, following a multi-site acquisition by The Gym Group.
TCC delivered a combination of building surveying, project management and cost management services at the two sites, including a pre-acquisition survey and technical due diligence.
The separate projects took eight weeks to complete respectively and involved works such as an extensive strip out and the addition of new finishes, shower rooms. enhanced acoustic flooring, HVAC systems and secure access facilities.
In Leyton, a new ventilation system was also installed, with much of the project undertaken in a live environment to enable The Gym Group to maximise member retention and revenue.
Detailed phasing plans were developed by TCC in order to minimise operational impact and health and safety risks while the gym was trading.
TCC has completed several projects nationwide on behalf of the Gym Group, including a new 7,500 sq ft gym at Victoria Park in Beverley, North Yorkshire and the operator’s new flagship venue in London’s Paddington.
