TCC appointed to landmark Birmingham build to rent scheme

The Construction Consultants (TCC) has been appointed to a major new residential scheme in Birmingham city centre.

The multi-disciplined construction consultancy will support the delivery of The Crown Works, a major placemaking scheme of more than 200 apartments and penthouses in the city’s Gun Quarter.

GRAHAM is delivering the 138,000 sq ft scheme which will be arranged over four new buildings of four to eight storeys.

New apartments will offer panoramic views across Birmingham’s skyline, which will be accessible from a private residents’ roof terrace.

The scheme will include two ground floor retail units, flexible amenity space, a gymnasium, co-working area and private dining and concierge services.

The Crown Works will benefit from the addition of rooftop solar panelling and will target BREEAM ‘excellent’ and an EPC rating of B for the completed commercial units.

Co-founder and Director of TCC, Sandeep Singh Sunner, said that The Crown Works was one of the largest BTR schemes it has been appointed to since the business launched five years ago.

He said: “We are very pleased to be working with GRAHAM to deliver this landmark residential project in the heart of Birmingham city centre. The Crown Works will offer contemporary, high-spec accommodation, set around a raised courtyard. With a range of excellent amenities and offering stunning views, the scheme promises to bring added vitality to a historic district of the city.”

The Crown Works is being developed by Europa Capital with Xian Developments as development manager. Construction is expected to start in January 2022, with practical completion programmed for spring 2024.

TCC hands over new Toolstation and Costa Coffee outlets

Multi-disciplined construction consultancy, The Construction Consultants (TCC) has completed work on two new developments in Somerset.

The Birmingham-based firm has supported the delivery of a new 3,390 sq ft Toolstation trade counter and a Costa Coffee drive thru on the established Isleport Business Park on Bennett Road in Highbridge.

TCC was principal designer for both new developments and also acted as project manager, cost manager and employer’s agent on behalf of client, Loc8 Developments.

The new trade counter building comprises 37 car parking spaces and associated landscaping. Key features include dark grey polyester powder coated aluminium cladding panels and a standing seam roof.

Costa Coffee’s new drive thru consists of a mono-pitched roof with a mixture of coloured render, timber cladding and powder coated aluminium panels, and comprises 37 car parking spaces and associated landscaping.

Construction consultancy concludes Coventry conversion

Former newspaper office Greyfriars House has been converted into student accommodation following completion of a £3.59 million project.

Multi-disciplinary consultancy, The Construction Consultants (TCC) has overseen the transformation of the building in Coventry city centre into a 98-bed residence for Blue Bear Management Limited.

The conversion included a double rooftop extension which has added two storeys to the building and contains a collection of one, two and three-bedroom studio apartments.

Solar panels have also been installed to the development to supply electricity to the rooftop extension and reduce the building’s impact on the local electrical network.

TCC were involved in the project from the outset until completion and acted as employer’s agent and cost manager.

Consultancy wins race to deliver new The Gym Group’s new Beverley facility

Fitness operator, The Gym Group, has taken receipt of a new small box gymnasium in Yorkshire that further enhances its national portfolio of high quality, low cost facilities.

The new 7,500 sq ft gym is located in a former retail warehouse at Victoria Park in Beverley, which has been converted following a five-week project.

Fit out works included specialist flooring and acoustic finishes, new HVAC systems and a complete overhaul of existing M&E installations to provide low energy lighting.

There are also new washroom and access control facilities, corporate branding features and the latest fitness equipment.

Birmingham-based specialist consultancy, The Construction Consultants was the appointed project manager and cost consultant on the project.

Work on new Tamworth Co-op checks out early

Birmingham-based The Construction Consultants (TCC) has completed work on a new Co-op retail unit in Tamworth – a week before the deadline.

Construction of the single-storey building near Ashby Road was managed by TCC for JH Property (Midlands) Limited and carried out by Hinton Design and Build Limited.

The Anker Valley unit is accompanied by 21 car parking spaces and associated landscaping. Other key features include a mixture of coloured render, facing brickwork and powder-coated aluminium panels.

Project management, employer’s agent, cost management and principal design services were undertaken by TCC, with the multi-disciplined consultancy involved in the c. £700,000 development from the outset through to completion.

Construction consultancy brews up new Costa Coffee drive thru

The Construction Consultants (TCC) has handed over a new Costa Coffee drive thru outlet in Gloucestershire.

The multi-disciplined construction consultancy has delivered the new single storey unit on the site of the former Cross Keys Inn, on Bath Road in Hardwicke.

The development includes a mono-pitched roof with a mixture of coloured render, timber cladding and powder coated aluminium panels, and comprises 26 car parking spaces and associated landscaping.

TCC was involved in the development from inception to practical completion and provided project management, employer’s agent, cost management and design services on behalf of client, Loc8 Developments.

It is the second recent development that the consultancy has delivered for Loc8 Developments, having completed work on a new four storey Travelodge hotel in Swindon, that includes a bar cafe, drive thru Subway and a standalone drive thru Starbucks.

An independently owned and managed, multi-disciplined construction consultancy has moved to new offices in Birmingham city centre as it meets the demands of a growing portfolio of clients.

Listed hotel refurbished by construction consultancy

Multi-disciplined firm, The Construction Consultants (TCC) has overseen the interior refurbishment of a 19th-century hotel in the medieval grounds of Abingdon Abbey.

TCC spent eight weeks managing the renovation of the Grade II-listed Cosners House for the Science and Technology Facilities Council.

The Birmingham-based consultancy occupied the positions of project manager, principal designer, cost manager and employer’s agent and was involved in the project from its inception to completion.

Works included the full refurbishment of the main reception, 13 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and communal areas in the Orchard wing.

The renovation was undertaken by award-winning interior designers, Studio Fourteen Interiors Limited.

TCC and Studio Fourteen have since collaborated again on  £1.5million refurbishment of residential units in Birmingham city centre for Singapore-based Equity Ventures Enterprises Limited.

A total of 46 flats were stripped out and re-fitted in the Charlotte Street development which now benefits from feature stairs and a light flooded atrium entrance hall.
